Can I make a copy of my G4 powerbook boot drives over to the G5 and what problems might that cause?
I elected to reinstall the system drive but just wondering if mos rerecognizes hardware each boot or has to be reconfigured if it was copied.

p.s. How in the hell do I completely disable this assinine touchpad???

It should go quite OK. Copy partition contents so that you preserve protection bits... for example by copying with SFS (or other amiga filesystem) formatted devices and using good old "copy all clone" shell command. And it's better that don't mess with boot.img partition, let that be created with MorphOS installer, but then you can format other partitions and copy your own setup over.

You might need to tune some settings after it.. or don't copy their setting files. Like screenmode and network settings. And keyfile of course. And if you have some mountlists for IceFS for example...

I've transferred my system setup from Peg1 to Mac mini and all the way to PowerMac G4 and Powerbook. Would be pain in the ass to start over always :)
