How well supported is the Symbios 53C895 SCSI2 LVD controller under MorphOS?
Does it work in LVD mode?
I've got a couple of these and a few U320 drives that ought to work.
While the maximum transfer rates of ATA100 and SATA might be higher, these drives with their fast rotation speeds and quick seek times might have an advantage in sustained transfer.

And,I hate to ask this, but can someone give me a quick primer on termination? Or point me to one?

I grew up with MFM and RLL drives (not SCSI).

Great! Another question I have already asked. I will just go plug one in later. I can not find the 68 pin cable though. Should load the driver though.

You mean after I reminded you 3 times about it you finally know now which SCSI standard the 53C89x implements? :-)

I can not test it, but a regular 895 does not freak out the system.
Unfortunately I could not really check the system out well.
My monitors with DVI input are sixty miles away from here and I had to resort to using a flaky 9800XT that acts like it memory is not working perfectly (random graphic distortion)
I would have prefered to use the Apple 9000 I have on hand, but...
Luckily, the is my original one (not being shipped to anyone).
Guess I'll have to dig up a DVI to VGA adapter (which I have a lot of, sixty miles away, or bring up an LCD monitor, and order a 68 pin LVD drive cable.

    Seems like it should work.
