Stupid question:IDE zip drive..will it work?

    looking to pick one up for backing up MOS, software.. it should work, correct?

    Yes IDE zip drives work great. You can get fat95.lha and read windows formated disks of format disks with ffs,sfs or pfs.

    ok, I finally installed the zip drive..it is recognized, yet if I put
    media in there I see no icon on the desktop..and just clicking
    "Format" does not show my zip drive. Unit control does show the
    drive though.

    Mayby you need to install z100 (search aminet). It works with IDE and
    SCSI zip drives. You could also try one of the other Zip drive
    utilities available on
    aminet.

    Ya that could help, but all I did was to partition the zip disk with SCSIIconfig like an Amiga hard drive.
    This works for backing up MOS or file transfer between Peg and Amiga.
    but for working with Windoze/Dos Zip disks (BTW all zip disks are preformated ether Dos or Mac it will say on box).
    You need to get fat95 (download it here in the download section under Essentials/pack1).
