Try booting whilst pressing 'c' or 'alt'.

Also, make sure you burned the disk from the iso image, and didn't just write the ISO onto disk as a file,

Ok...this thing has 2 CD DVD drives. Misconfigured or 1 is bad.

Its working....I think. It's partitioning the system drive but can't tell if it is having problems or doing something.

EDIT: Installing. Question...I thought the primary partition was DH0 not DH1.

DH0 is just a small boot partition and should always be given the name 'boot'.
And remember, that has to be formatted as an HFS partition.
My own preference for DH1 is the name 'System' formatted to SFS.

I'm going to try to create a boot system on my Quicksilver next weekend that places boot on an ATA drive and System on a 15K rpm SCSI drive. If that doesn't work I'll p[lace System on an 10K rpm SATA drive.

Its a little tricky to learn how to use manual partitioning and format for MorphOS, but I'd highly recommend it.

It has allowed me to set up one MDD with both OSX and MorphOS and on a second I've reserved a 116GB HFS partition for later use.

Well I still wonder if this taping mode is recommended and if it can be dangerous for the computer, the slot or the graphics card. Is it better tot ape or to cut the pins? Any suggestions?

I desoldered the resisters, I'm no solder god, but I found it easy.

    @Jim:

Nevermind..thats correct. After using HDconfig I can see it setup like you're describing. When I had my MacMini system, I think I changed SFS to IceFS? I think? I'll do some searching.

There are still utilities that I need to find like scp. I'm guessing I cant mount NFS shares or CIFS shares..

    Yes, IceFS is superior.
But as I don't usually need partitions above 120GB, I have not needed it.

On the tape issue, it can deteriorate.
I have only shipped one card this way (to Pega-1).
If you can find the resistors, de-solder them or cut the traces that lead to them.
I have had success removing the plating for the pins, but that too can be problematic.

Of course, this will not be a problem with G5s as it won't be necessary to disable pins.
And I lucked out and obtained a cheap Apple labeled 9800XT.

Although I have also modified PzC 9800XTs for PC use.
And, further, there are rom files that will allow us to use R400 based cards.

Also while you HAVE to label DH0 'boot', labeling DH1 "System' as many other do makes sense to me.

I've also labeled my OSX partitions 'Mac'.

Considering stephen_robinson's statement above, this doesn't seem to be a neccesity.

Partitions have 2 names, the one given in HDConfig and what you format it as.

I personally set the small HFS bootable partion to 'BOOT' for both. It's just I set the main MorphOS system to partition to DH0 in HDConfig. That's my personal preference.

Yes, this is drive name vs. volume name in AmigaOS parlance.

Well if NFS or SMB is not up to par, I'll just use scp to transfer my backups to my server.

Thanks for the help. Always appreciated.
