    I think there will be. Currently you can order either digital download (for one platform) or special edition on DVD with every (computer) port included.

    Looks like I have to give away my euros, too :-) Never played the original.

    I'm assuming this is a re-write from scratch and the graphics etc ripped from the original? Just wondering how it was done.

    It's an official port. A 68k-asm-to-C conversion of the original game-core is running inside, direct chipset peek and pokes were removed and replaced by code that matches the original behaviour. All the non-game-core stuff was removed and replaced by portable equivalents with added functionality (menu system etc.). And things like achievements, online-scores, etc. were integrated.

    The video tells me it needs a whole new audio tracks. Game can be retro, even graphics can be retro but sounds must be updated.

    The game runs well on Powerbook, but needs native (max resolution) to run at around 50fps.
    Joystick (Competition Pro) is full supportet. Purchased the Full version yesterday.
    Great Game ! Thank you very much :-)

    @defender:
    My preferred resolution is 1024x768. The game will adjust itself so the gfx don't look distorted on 16:9 displays. I wouldn't recommend a higher resolution, won't give you more details while playing. If your machine can do it then "Retro Plus" or "Modern" modes will probably look better on higher resolutions, but usually 1024x768 is the mode of choice. On smaller modes the scanlines don't look good.

    It runs very well on my G5 with retroplus+scanlines 1280x1024. (native monitor resolution)
    I will try 1024x768 next time though. I always liked this game. Really cool to see a
    reprogrammed version. Will buy it soon.

    Daytona...a silly question. Are you an Amiga user from the old days or are you new to this world? It's not important, only curiosity.

    Whats the next project, are there more retro games that might
    find their way to morphos?

    He gave a hint on that in another thread three weeks ago:

    Bought the game and finished it a couple of times (on the first 3 difficulty levels). Game runs smooth only with the retro filter (on fullscreen mode=60fps@1280-1024/24bit). All other options make the game crawl (and I have a 1,6Ghz G4/9800PRO). All in all, it's nice to have new software on our little ecosystem but I am disappointed that no one took care of the graphics after 2 and a half decades for this remake. I would gladly pay a small additional amount (around 3 euros because I think the game is already expensive for what it offers, imo) for an updated graphic DLC.
