Using the SSH "remote client" app, you can play the fantastic "Dungeon Crawl" roguelike game. In my opinion, probably one of the best rogue-likes I have played.

I haven't played Dungeon Crawl in years... on any platform. Nice to see its still being developed... one game that I liked was ADOM. looks like there is a desire by some to resurrect this game to update, bugfix, and maybe finish it?

yeah, there's been talk of updating ADOM. I always had a hard time getting into that one. I played Angband and Crawl quite a lot.

I guess once you learn one arcane, complicated interface, it's harder to "unlearn" one :)

How many old rogue-likes run on Morph anyways? I know of Nethack and an old version of Angband. Anything else out there?

I'm a big fan of the DOOM rogue like.

Pretty much all the Bablos Amiga ports will run on Morphos fine. I was stuck in Zangband for years.. all the variants I used on my A3000 worked right away on my PegII. I also played Nethack an old version of Crawl and of course ADOM... seems. Like I'm missing something though...

I just wish there was a newer version of Angband for MOS. Maybe some day :)

yeah, I saw those (I prefer the ASCII version) but they are all 3.0.6, while the most recent version is 3.3.2 for linux/windows

Yeah... maybe we can get someone to compile a newer version?

Haven't been on this site in along time... this conversation has led me to look into some old games (on vacation this week) :-) Just started playing TOME again... Names changed and there have been a ton of updates since the Amiga version from almost 10 years ago... this would be a great one to get compiled!!!

TOME changed a lot from it's origins, from what I can tell. THe current version when I played it on linux is quite interesting. Tons of skills and abilities. I ended up liking it less than Crawl or Angband but its very cool, and its super polished.

yeah very polished... if I had the skill i would try to port this... maybe neutral, so all the Amiga flavors could use it? I should try to get back into programming... was never strong at C, but now that I have some time (lost hours at work) I might be able to actually learn something!

I'd love to help ,but I have basically zero programming skills. I've compiled a few things from source code in linux and that's about it. If there was a bounty or something, I'd cough up though.
