If someone is insterested by, I've ported to MorphOS Cube2 Sauerbraten game.

PowerSDL required (not fixed to v14 now).

    Binaries:
    http://www.yomgui.fr/prv/rpg_client
    http://www.yomgui.fr/prv/sauer_server
    http://www.yomgui.fr/prv/sauer_client

All data are available on the Cube2 officiel website (there are thousand of MB so I don't give it in a standalone archive).

Note2: I've not tested sauer_server, and the client is a bit bugged and may crash sometime. The RPG client is more stable, but not tested completly...

Note3: run clients with shell options -t -w640 -h480 for a windowed mode

    Old engine version
I've also build the old one for testing:

    And now... next project!

Just a note: it requires PowerSDL14 but this one seems to be too "crashware".
So if someone has the powersdl_sdk.lha archive for the 13 version I'll be thankfull to send it me (MP).

This is the constructor (built in libSDL.a) always opening the latest library version.
So just open the library yourself with the version you want and the constructor won't be linked in.

    Mac Mini G4 1.42ghz 32mb vram

Full screen 320x240 resulation > Very slow maybe 5-6 FPS
Windows size (-t -h320 -v240)320x240 > Very slow same FPS

32 MB VRAM is not enough for the game. That is why it is so slow. I have free videomem display in the screen title and can see videomem drops from 28 MB to zero just after the map starts.

@ Henes: right, I'm so busy in some others projects (well... in fact Cube2 is not a project, I've built it just for seeing how it work as I'm working a real 3d game project where cubes are involved ;-)) that I've missed a such stupid point ...

Now about vram: yep such video cards are considered too limited. Even 128 is limited if you read this page:
    http://cube.wikispaces.com/Performance+Guide

I've downloaded the first version (Cube) of the engine to see if a more simple design gives few FPS... but I think not.
Cube2 is quiet well written and uses best methods (VBO or Arrays, octree and occlusion, ...)

As I like the edit mode I'm trying to use this code as a good OpenGL tutorial.
    And now... next project!

I run this under AROS with a GeForce 9800 Gt with 512Mb of RAM.

From what I understand anything less than a GeForce 5600 with 256Mb RAM will not cut it. So all in all you are going to need a Tower with a nice ATI card with plenty of RAM!

@Blasterreal: in menu use load fps map and load any ones here: smaller and without "entities", you should raise 30fps!
    And now... next project!

Ok, the PowerSDL version lock issue is fixed, binaries has been updated.
You can use Psdl v13 (more safe).
    And now... next project!

I've also build the old cube engine (see the head post).
This is fun: better performance, but for sure Cube2 has a better rendering.
    And now... next project!

It's not text but MorphOS executables. Just remove the .txt suffix from the filename.
