I have noticed that many of the emulators for many alt OS' are kind of lack luster and based upon emulators that have been far surpassed by other emulators out there.

While I am grateful for some of the ports that exist, I have to say that some of the other ports get no or little use by me, and there are many systems out there I'd still love to see emulated, if not fully emulated such is the case with the Sega Genesis and the lack of Sega CD support on most alto OS'.

In hopes that someone with interest would like to attempt to remedy this situation, I'd like to draw attention to a piece of software called Mednafen which I use on my classic XBOX (x86) and recently the Nintendo Wii (PPC).

This emulator emulates not just one, but many consoles and does it well. I could go into in depth detail, but instead I'll list the consoles that the Wii new supports thanks to this, and will also point you to Mednafen's official web page:

    Supported Systems (on wii):

    GameBoy/GameBoy Color
    GameBoy Advance
    Game Gear
    Lynx
    Nintendo Entertainment System (NES)
    Neo Geo Pocket
    PC Engine (CD)/TurboGrafx 16 (CD)/SuperGrafx (Fast version)

(Yes, even FULL TurboGfx CD support that totally blows aways the support seen in other emulators such as Hugo)

    PC-FX
    Sega Master System
    MegaDrive/Genesis
    Virtual Boy
    WonderSwan

Just out of curiosity at this point as productive tools are more of a higher priority at this point and time, but...

What would prevent Mednafen from being ported to MorphOS?

    http://mednafen.sourceforge.net/

This would dramatically expand the catalog of games that are accessible to MorphOS users.

In fact it's the best emulator for GameBoy Advance, Virtual Gameboy, and Turbo GFX CD that I've ever saw!

Games like Bruce Lee on the GBA now work at they should, even on an underpowered Nintendo Wii. Likewise we have FULL access to all the Turbo GFX CD's audio with this emu, as well as a few other things that really make it shine!

I've been using it since my classic XBOX days and I still to this day wonder why it has not been ported to nearly everything.
