I just tried out FodQuake...

...upon clicking on either executable MorphOS tells me that neither file is an executable.

I get the same results from Command Line.

Looks like bigfoot forgot to set E (executable) attributes for files. "protect +e fodquake-gl" should do the trick.

Ambient ignores the executable bit.
So the problem must be a different one.

May I suggest using snoopdos/snoopium?

Are you should you downloaded the right archive?

Here I can click and run from shell and the result is always that I need some gfx.wad game file, which I not own, so the binaries are working as they should.
