    Nice, but...

    1. I can't get a fullscreen display; I get a quarterscreen (bottom-left corner). Not sure if this is down to the port or my SDL setup (I have more probs running stuff fullscreen on SDL). I deleted the SDL prefs file but no improvement. If anyone recognises this, help would be appreciated.

    2. It's rather slow here on a Peg2/G4/R9250-128 and the music stutters; is there a way to speed things up or maybe lower the audio quality?

I suppose you don't have any proper screenmode (800x600 by default).

And it doesn't stutter at all for the people who tested it, at least.

(same setup here, peg2/g4 radeon 9250)

Works well here on Mac-mini 1.5GHz (64MB Vmem), and I have 1440*900 as default screenmode.

    Thanks Fab (and Amigasoft.net)

Well, I have all sorts of screenmodes set up, including 8bit, 16bit and 24bit 800x600 modes; all work when I test them in Monitors prefs.

Its weird that the game (sfx and gfx) is smooth at your (same) setup. Any ideas what may be wrong here?

Okay, turning off "Promote SDL screens" in SDL prefs fixed the fullscreen issue. Gonna check my audio files next, you'll see that it's all down to my system ;)

About audio, I have no idea what could cause that for you (using a sound card? I didn't test with that configuration). In any case, OpenAL thread needs to run at high priority (which is done by default), else it easily gets preempted, causing stuttering (OpenAL buffers are likely very small, and AHI isn't very good with that).

Regarding smoothness, it depends on your definition and expectation. It's good enough to be playable (i completed the game :)), but it's true some larger levels (home waters) can get a bit slowish, but that's not unbearable either.

And for comparison, it's noticably faster than the OS4 version, too. But the limit is mostly the gfx card itself and the fillrate, according to kiero. You can always reduce resolution, depth, or even texture quality if you really want more speed.

Hmmm, using a SBLive here. Might this be the problem, would there be an easy solution?

By coincidence I read about the Humble Bundle on the OpenPandora forum, just that week they had their 'pay what you want' campaign. So I got gish, aquaria, and many more for just 10 euro. :)
Then I discovered that ports started to apear for MorphOS, so I got Gish running nicely a few days ago, and now Aquaria is just installed and running perfectly.
Thanks Fab for the porting :)

btw: The Humble Bundle licence says that if you baught the games, you are free to give the games away to your friends and family.

Well, figured it out: my AHI settings where to blame. Was set to 48000hz, setting it to 44100hz fixed it. Schweet :-)

    @fab

Thank you (again) for porting, optimising and helping me out ;-)

I'm a bit late, but is this game known to work with MOS 1.4.5? PowerSDL 14.0?
    On a Peg2 G3/600, 512MB, with Radeon 9200SE?

The intro works, but before entering main game screen I run into reproducible program and DSI exceptions. Probably because the program jumped to 0x00000000.

The LR is pointing to hunk 1 offset 0x1fb6c8. Any ideas?

No wonder FAB has been so busy! Awesome, can't wait to try this, sounds like it would be right up my alley!

BTW, how in the heck do you tell a program such as this or Giana's Return, which screen mode to use as it's default?

It seems to me that all programs aim for the one that is on the top of the list. I play a lot of Giana, so in that case I'm set since it is set to 16-bit 640x480, but some other programs that seem to expect a larger resolution now display on a black only screen because of this.

How did you know I travel through time? I thought I erased everyone who knew from history....

Looks like I've still got work to do, but before I kill you, I did want to thank you for the link at least.

Because you said Fab had been so busy because of the port when in fact he finished it almost 9 months ago. So I figured you must be a visitor from the past :-)

Somehow it never caught my eye. Strange.

Anyhow I registered this game and well...

...so far it reminds me of The Little Mermaid Meets Castlevania or Eco the Dolphin or something. I've not hit any major action yet, but I'm enjoying my self none the less. The mouse controls were a nice surprise!

There is definitely some action later in the game and the whole story is quite nice, so don't give up. :)

I won't. I figured if you took the time to port it, then there must be something to it, as your selection of ports thus far have been top notch.
