    Hello,

I want to connect an 'old style' joystick to my Macmini.
Ofcourse I can buy an USB competition pro USB, but I have a lot of 9pin arcade joysticks at home.

On ebay I found a converter from 9pin to USB. (ebay 9pin to USB ) Should it work for joysticks?

Are your joysticks for the serial port? :)

The classic "Atari" standard DB9 joystick port, as found on Commodore's home computers and Amigas, has nothing to do with a boring serial port. Perhaps that adapter you mention is for the serial port protocol, completely unrelated. It's true that connectors match, but that's all.
A PC/USB gamepad adapter for a PlayStation has more in common with what you need.

I see it's an old thread but if anyone's still interested in a db9 to usb connector, this one

works really well. I tested it out in vice using one of my old c64 joysticks.

You need one of these for every joystick you have or can you buy one where you can plug in the joystick you want for that particular game you want to use it for ?
