    Hello there

I'm new to MOS and I've made a similar posr on A.ORG, but I believe this is a more specifical site for MOS, so I hope I can find help here.

I am using a Mac Mini to test MOS. I wanted to see if MOS is able of really perfect smooth scroll like the old time Amigas, so I'm trying Giddy3, a nice side scroller adveture.

The problem is that the game's scroll is horribly jumpy at 60Hz screen modes!

-Is Giddy3 a 50HZ mode game? What refresh rate does this game expect for perfectly smooth scroll??

-Has anybody defined a custom 50HZ mode in MOS? I think I'll need it for UAE. Can you post the mode specifications so I can define it myself in my system?

My monitor suports 50Hz modes, but I have to define them manually in other OSes: the EDID doesn't report them.

    Thanks in advance!

go to the monitor settings and check out if there's any predefined 50Hz mode, if it's available choose it.

About "Giddy3" I haven't tried it. Check out MUI screen preferences and try enabling/disabling 3d layers (opening game in its own screen will be better to get better buffering because if you use too much gfx ram in ambient you may have disabled doublebuffer or triplebuffer). If the game is an SDL port you can open SDL preferences and check out if triple buffer is activated.

Please note that SDL prefs for triple buffer and MorphOS display options for double/triple buffer settings are different things.

You need a multiple of that 50Hz frequence to have smooth scrolling. So try 100Hz if you can't configure at 50Hz
