Is there any chance that someone will port any PSX emulator for MorphOS? There's FPSE for 68k and OS4, so... myybe it's a chance to port this emulator, even slightly modified (OpenGL, etc) 68k version?

fpse is closed source, and amidog doesn't have access to a morphos machine AFAIK, so it may be quite difficult. He can always crosscompile, but it's never easy to debug that way.

That's sad to hear (or rather read), because PSX emulator is only thing which i'm really envious to OS4 users.

I'm talking about new version with 3D support ;)

And i'm using FCEU 0.9 with OS4Emu. But there's lack of 3D support and some incopatibility. I tried v0.10, but it doesn't work... :(

It probably works with OS4Emu 2.0 :) Or I can at least check it out. AmiDog probably compiled FPSE with newer OS4 SDK which is only supported by yet unreleased OS4Emu.

But I'm still in Sweden for a while :-/

Out of curiosity, why even play with an emulator? PSX's are given away for free these days.

In this thread we're discussing about running FPSE on MOS:

Latest PCSX-df works great on my Gentoo installation (only some
rare slowdowns due to 3d+radeon+x.org) :-)

There's a new release (10.1) of FPSE. 68k version now works fine (probably, i'm not tested it yet), but doesn't support 3D and scaling.

    @Solo

this version support 3d [plugin/gpuw3d.dll] and for full speed Trance process should have pri=40.

    Seems it needs GTK2.

yes it does, at least for gui
    so 3 options
    - remove gui dependant stuff in code and hope it works
    (didn't get so far here :( )
    - wait for cmdline version from upstream
    - gtk2mui

Will a MorphOS native version speed things up? The 23-02 classic release actually works, but even with Trance at pri 40 (and all settings set to fast), it's still too slow to be enjoyable here (but tbh, only tried Soul Reaver and Discworld Noir ;).

No, I am a betatester because Amidog has only mos pup machine and most of work he does using crosscompilator.

Gui and plugins are the same. There is a problem with JIT in a few games but speed is nice.
