If you`re using E-UAE it doesn`t have one. You have to edit .uaerc for your rom, disk, screen ect. If you want an easy and nice setup try AmigaSYS. There is a MorphOS download http://amigasys.fw.hu/

That's true for any Amiga compatible system for now;).

But there are e-uae GUIs for other systems, for example GTK. That's why I am trying to build e-uae with my GTK-MUI wrapper, and so with some luck (and after coding those quite complex and still missing GTK widgets in GTK-MUI) there will be a GUI for e-uae and MUI ..

I've read about it in the Obligement site, but couldn't find it anywhere. Could you post it in Morphzone?

    Hi winterhunter,

Now I've tried another one (the bin file is called uae.sdl) that works OK, but I don't know how to change disks (if there is a way?).

Well, the UAE version I use has a readme included where it states that you should use LCtrl + LAlt instead of F12.
Maybe your version also uses this combination.

    Google might be your friend:

@Xzlt: try on Aminet, I've found it there. However, the GUI does not
seem to work. I launch it (either with the icon or by running
"run rx UAEGUI.rexx"), and no GUI pops up when UAE 0.8.28 is run.

I was using e-uae (the version that comes with the bundled powersdl)
and it worked great (and had a simple "GUI" for changing disks with
F12+F1-4), but since reinstalling MOS it runs at ~1 FPS.

I'm now using uae 0.8.28 (tried the "normal" and SDL versions) and it
says that it failed to initialize the GUI, and there is no way (I
find) of changing disks. Performancewise, it runs OK.

    Any ideas?

use this one : http://fabportnawak.free.fr/uae/e-uae-0.8.28-2.lha, with latest powersdl (11.6)
And shortcut qualifier for both sdl and native versions is : CTRL ALT.

Hi Fabien, your work on E-UAE, MorphOS version, is really precious!

I have a question concerning qualifier keys used by E-UAE. You said:

    > And shortcut qualifier for both sdl and native versions is : CTRL ALT.

Please note that the CTRL ALT qualifier might be used sometimes even within an emulated AmigaOS, thus giving rise to compatibility problems. In fact, if the user tries to send a CTRL ALT F1 key combination, say, to a program running within the emulation, it will be intercepted and processed by E-UAE for its own use, instead, and will never reach the emulated program.

If F12 could be used like on other platforms, either as a qualifier instead of CTRL ALT, or at least as a toggle to activate/deactivate external command mode for E-UAE, the previous problem would be avoided.
(Explanation for rookies: the F12 key does not exists on real Amiga keyboards so none will never need to send a F12 keypress event to emulated programs.)

Of course the whole question is irrelevant for games, but could be important for people who emulate the AmigaOS 3.x environment just for programs that do not run correctly within the MorphOS environment (e.g. FinalData).

Actually I don't know if this minor problem should be addressed to you, like I'm doing now, or directly to Richard Drummond. Please let me know.

    Regards.

    Actually i don't care too much if it's F12 or CTRL-ALT.
But, in SDL version it was F12 by default and in native version it was CTRL ALT. I don't like having different shortcuts for these 2 versions.
Now you can ask M. Drummond to enable F12 in both if you prefer it this way for the next versions. It's better if he makes the change himself, as he's the official uae maintainer.

    @Fab:
One little question: I've downloaded the version that you recommended, and noticed that the SDL version runs significantly slower than the native one. Is this normal?

    First screenshots of a gtk-mui e-uae gui:

    http://homes.hallertau.net/~oli/gtk-mui/

Still a lot missing, but at least it builds and starts up.

And yes, should build under morphOS, too ;).

    WinterHunter,

yes, SDL backend is a bit slower than native version in "normal" mode, and significantly slower than native version in overlay mode. Anyway SDL version is mostly useful for P96 emulation.

This gtk ui could be used, i'll check that.

Couldn't PowerSDL be changed to allow forcing apps to open overlay windows?
