Well, running Q3, it´s damm slow when loading or
selecting some option in the main menu. The game
takes at least 10 minutes to start running.

I use a Peg II G4 with enough RAM (512), and
    a Radeon 9250 GPU.

I added AddBuffers command to speed up HD reads.
Once game is loaded, it runs fine.

Any suggestion ?? Thanks in advance.

More buffers (I'm sure bigfoot tested this with FFS, maybe he can tell you how many buffers he has)?

..other than that, all I know is that it's fairly snappy on PFS atleast...

Using Addbuffers 7000 on that FFS partition.
It helps a lot, but anyway it´s quite slow
when it has to deal with big files.

I wonder if SFS is part of MorphOS or do I need
to download and install by myself.
System settings has an SFS section.

I suppose I´ll need to back up
the whole partition before doing anything ;-D

Thanks for all your kind replys, and hope to enjoy
    Q3 soon ;-D

You can start wondering, SFS is a part of MorphOS :)

Hummm, I could have read pegasos manual first :)

My system came preinstalled from Vesalia and
they made two FFS partitions Sys and Work.

    It´s time to backup

Do I have to clear my Work partition and create
a new one using SFS, or would it be possible to
change it´s filesystem from SCSI.Config without
    deleting it first?.

@diezi7: when u compiled yourself, then make sure u install latest libnix update before you link the binary.

Else, try on SFS or increase buffers. ;)

Here it loads _very_ quickly too (from SFS partition).

    regards,

Increasing buffers beyond 10000 in FFS and it runs
    very nice at last.

This Q3 is an impressive port.

    thanks ;-D

You can try to increase the blocksize of the partition to 2KB (or 4KB if you don't care much about the space... NTFS on WinXP machines uses 4KB). It will also give you better speed.
