    Hi all

I have been happily using the same Peg install for over a year now, then a few weeks ago, V crashed (its temp dir was progdir: big mistake) and when I rebooted, the whole apps directory was gone! Not just the icon or just V's drawer, but the whole apps directory! I found an old MOS boot CD around but I guess it was pre-1.4 because there was no V on it anywhere to reinstall. Everything else on the disk seems fine.

What tools are available under MOS to fix a problem like this in SFS?

Also, sorry for posting this in the wrong forum, there doesn't seem to be a way to change which forum its in after you realize your mistake..

Depending on your settings (SFS, recycled) some of the files, that were recently deleted might be in partition root at .recycled drawer.

It might be set invisible, but if it IS there, you should be able to get there from shell.

You probably should also use sfscheck to check, if the partition itself is okay.

Isn't the boot partition suppose to be FFS?
I know that's what it said to use when I loaded mine.

Most setups are having only a very small FFS (i.e. only a few MBs)
partition which just contain the bootrom
binary to init the boot process. The rest of the system resides on
another partition which is in most cases a sfs one.
It's better to avoid usage of FFS as much as possible.
