    Hello.
I try to install A Quake 2 ppc original, a freeze in the 2cond disc.
How to install this great game in morphos 1.4.2?

(the same question in Shogo and freespace ;))

I've had the same problems with those games. I can no longer find my Amiga Quake 2 CD, but i never did get it working on the Pegasos.

If anyone know knows how to get these working please post a reply. I am sure several people have had this happen to them.

afaik, Shogo doesn't work on Radeon boards (endianity problem)

And for Quake2, can't you just copy the amiga executable manually and copy "baseq2" drawer from PC Quake 2 CD?

(Note, I don't know how Hyperion put their Q2 port on CD)

i did my installation in my Mos-UAE and copied the Files to my
Games-dir :-) or you installed it on your old AMIGA and copy it then
    to the Pegasos.

    Hi,

    Quake2:
Back when I got my Pegasos I only transferred an already installed Quake2 from my Amiga to my Pegasos.
Later I heard that people had problem when installing Q2 on the Pegasos. I found out that the installation script stalls at the part where it tries to unpack the pak-files (problem of the tool that is used for unpacking those files).
However, it should be possible to edit the install-script that - instead of unpacking the pak-files - it only copies them to the baseq2-directory. The only drawback should be that loading takes some more time when playing because Q2 has to extract the data from the pak-files instead of an already unpacked directory structure.

    Shogo:
Hm, can't remember that I had problems when installing this one.
    It also works with both my gfx-cards (PCI-Voodoo3 3000 and AGP-Radeon 7000/VE).
The only funny thing I encountered was, that when playing with software renderer (either Voodoo or Radeon) I get an error message that Shogo can't initialize the sound system when loading and I get no sound during the game.
This does not happen when I'm using the Voodoo with hardware rendering where everything works OK.

    Freespace:
Sorry, haven't tried this one yet - lack of time - as I first had to finish my "tests" :-D with Heretic II.

It's not difficult to pack up the pak-files, as those are just "normal" zip archives.

Unfortunately, this is not correct for QuakeI and QuakeII pak-files which uses their own format.

However, AFAIK it is true for QuakeIII pak-files.
