i have tried this package:

But im able to get it working its always incomplete installation error, there are not comments on Aminet, i suspect that package is just broken.
Package have not installer in first place.

I know where to put *.pak files, i have tried OpenArena 0.8.1, 0.8.5, 0.8.8 versions and originalQuake 3 files too. I made Quake 3 working with different engine port fine. I have tried to rename directory to from baseos to base3q.
I suspect that package does not include all files needed.

I tried everything with files possible, force data folder, it first place its quite bad exception handling to just print incomplete installation without details.
Error message is same even when data directories does not exist, i have not idea for what it is looking, its not Windows to checking some registry, maybe it expect some addition libraries etc.

I modded Quake games, i now where to put it :) Someone could confirm that problem exist.
