See no reason. It rides with the name of Civilization series and is an average game. You're better off with FreeCiv.

I checked the source and I don't think it's easily portable. At least I don't think one single person can do it in reasonable amount of time. To be honest: I think the OS4 announcemet @ ann.lu was a fake.

But indeed, the source is there and someone could port it.
