I think porting games... is best made original games to the morphos (For example FORTIS), or made games with AmiDARK Engine or re-porting remakes games like "Project Giana" (yes, giana sisters!)

Some old version of this was already ported to MorphOS, but never released AFAIK.

There are a few things I have to clarify. The last public Dolphinity Racer source is from 2002. The other thing is, that the source is released under a restrictive license, mainly to build platform specific versions. I think this includes ports too, but I have to read their license throughly.

I have a working Nexuiz port for AROS, which (with some little work) could be fixed up for MorphOS. However, as someone pointed out, TinyGL doesn't have shaders, and I'm not sure how dependent the renderer is on them. AFAIR it only uses fragment shaders for various effects, but I have to check to make sure.
This is just like television, only you can see much further.

Ok, forget the whole thing for now. We`ll still take suggestions in this thread though - make sure it`s something that will work on the R300!

Many users new to MorphOS (or any other hobby) are very enthusiastic for the first few weeks or months.

I suggest you pace yourself Fraggle, don't burn yourself out too quickly, as I would rather have you around here longer as a user and supporter of MorphOS, than to see you run into road blocks too quickly and have them cause you to lose interest.

What exactly does that mean? Do you just want to make sure the software works on the Powerbook or is the goal to port stuff that pushes the R300 to its limt?

If TinyGL is not supporting shaders, apart from being a bit faster what is the big feature gain compared to R200 cards?

    R300 supports OGL 2.0, R200 only supports OGL 1.3.

R300 supports shader model 2.0, R200 only supports shader model 1.4.

R300 supports multisampling AA, R200 only supports supersampling (ie, useless).

R300 is also considerably faster than R200.

    From Wikipedia:

The performance and quality increases offered by the R300 GPU is considered to be one of the greatest in the history of 3D graphics, alongside the achievements GeForce 256 and Voodoo Graphics

So yes, the goal is to port stuff that pushes it to its limit!

I have sources to Defcon, Darwina and Multiwina from Introversion. They need some work in network area. The worst thing is that I do not have time to work on them atm.

Pity - I was really hoping that the R300 would give us Doom 3.

Maybe I should learn to code!

I bought D3 when it came out.
It looks great, but I didn't find it nearly as facinating as the original.

And just have 3D support is not going to be enough.
We're going to need to use the shaders.

Jim, shaders need fragment/vertex and GLSL compiler to MorphOS... but is not impossible when R300 drivers is finished, only time and motivation (with a lots of pizza´s and support of all MorphOS users) to kiero, bigfoot and company :)
