    Is this Linux-version of the excellent Bejewelled how portable?

    Hi hooligan,

    Well, the problem with this game is, that it doesn't use any development environment that is available on MOS also (like SDL).
    So a port of this program would mean to do a lot of work concerning all the input/output.
    Same for sound/music as it uses mikmod for it - don't know how hard it is to transfer this (mikmode) to MOS.

    All in all - it is feasible - the question is just: Is it worth the work?
    As one would have to make a lot of changes.

    Bye HAK

    The mikmod and rsvg (though I'd recommend using cairo directly as librsvg is rather huge and full of dependencies itself) dependencies are easy, however the GTK and Glade dependencies are not.

    If someone were to port this they should probably just rewrite the GUI (and then you'd be about 40% away from rewriting the entire game. ;) )...

    Hi!

    Haven't played gweled, but looking at the screenshots it looks
    like http://sam.zoy.org/monsterz/
    Maybe this is easier to port (python) or even already exists(?)

    @Frostwork

    Good find! The game surely looks... cute :-D

    Bejewelled has one big major advantage over others when it comes to rules and gameplay.. in Bew four connected items causes a new object to born which can be used for small explosions, and five connected items earns you an object which gives a possibility of removing all certain type of items from the playarea. Both making the game 10x more enjoyable. Not to speak the luuuuvrly graphics it has ;-)
