There's a working OS4 layer for MorphOS, right?

Itix should know. I don't know how os4emu runs on MorphOS2.0, it worked here with 1.4.5. Anyway i suggest you to ask author about sources, it's a SDL app so it shouldn't be a big problem to make a MorphOS version.

Tried os4emu but it complains about wrong or missing elf.library.
As I understand it Cave Story is freeware but not open source - Pixel, the author, has given permission and the source to port it to Linux x86/PPC, PSP, DS, GP2X and now OS4.

Original Windows version written by Pixel.
SDL/Linux port by Peter Mackay and Simon Parzer.
Endian fixes by Peter gordon aka Xeron.
AmigaOS 4.0 packaging and management by Johan Samuelsson aka Spot.

8-) OK, contacted spotUP on safir if he was allowed/able to build a MOS binary as well.
Unfortunately he wasn't, but was willing to help out if/when permission is got from Pixel and a decent SDL coder recruited.

    HAK! Where are you?

    --- edit ---
Newer optimized SDL port on its way:

SpotUP has done A LOT of good ports for OS4.
If someone wants to make some MorphOS versions of those I think he would be willing to help.
    Hes really good.

Or better up. A MorphOS user could work with him to make even more ports for both OS4 and MorphOS :)

Time to do some thread necroing! This is only a debug build, but I compiled NXEngine for MorphOS. It should work okay, exept the fullscreen mode. Color keying doesn't seem to work there, and parts of the background obscure the foreground, rendering the game unplayable :-(
You can grab it from here.

I fixed a serious bug, which trashed the currently held weapons in the save games. I changed the link in my previous post.

I fixed the sound effects, it was an endianness issue. The #?.pxt files have to be re-extracted, so start a new drawer, and copy your save files (profile?.dat) there.

Just make a dummy-save before copy your old saves, or Load menu won't work. There's something in settings.dat to determine if there are any saves.

    edit:
Or alternatively you can extract stuff in the new directory, and copy them over to the old one. Just make sure that you keep settings.dat and profile?.dat, or you'll lose your saves.

It doesn't need 3D, I'm playing it on my PB. Anyway update SDL to the latest version.

The "official" release is out, you can get it on aminet. There are no major changes, just the removal of some debug code. Plus I've been waiting for itix to release PowerSDL 16.0, which fixes the fullscreen mode in NXEngine :-) So make sure to get that one too.
