I downloaded Hurrican from the downloads section of the forum and I have a folder named "hurrican-1.0.04.lha" with a long list of files including Hurrican.exe and HurricaStarter.exe. but none of these files would run the installation. I get a message saying "no hexview yet @2:Hurrican 1.0.0.4"

    How can I install?

Thanks in advance for any help offered.

Don't install, simply copy uncompressed directory where you want and run hurrican file (without extension).

This is not a folder, but an archive. Ambient, the MorphOS desktop, has a feature that you can enter into archive without depacking it, just like Windows for ZIP archives. Then, when you enter hurrican-1.0.0.4.lha, you have Hurrican_1.0.0.4 directory. These is no instalation required, so just drag this directory where you want. Then you can start the game. Running the game just from the archive is not possible.

I downloaded the .lha file to my Games folder and I have a hurrican-1.0.0.4.lha file, but when I click on it takes me to yet another folder called"Hurrican_1.0.0.4. Inside this folder I have 3 folders and 25 files including text documents. None of those launches the game. What am I doing wrong?

If I am reading you last post correctly it sounds like you are still trying to run an archive as if it is ready to run.

What Krashan is trying to say is that Ambient desktop allows to you double click on a .lha archive and browse what is inside it... HOWEVER it is still in an "archived" state.

To, as you say, "Install" this game you need to extract the lha archive to your drive and then you can run the game.

The simplest way to accomplish this is to go you the .lha archived program that you wish to "extract" and [Right Click]
You will noticed at the bottom of this menu is the option to -EXTRACT- and/or -EXTRACT to..- option below it.

If you choose -EXTRACT-, it will perform an lha -e command to the directory that the .lha file is located in.

If you choose -EXTRACT to-, you will get a requester for you to choose where (what path) you wish to extract the program into.

Once you pick a method, you will see the all of the files within the archive "extract" and then it will idle/disappear in a moment.

You are ready to return to the directory where the game has been extracted to and you can run the program.

To avoid further confusion you could use this game icon (just save it into the game folder).

I had to do a complete installation of MOS 3.0 in my Mac Mini, since 3.1 wouldn't work in my system, so I'm re-installing the fistful of apps and games I had previuosly downloaded.

I can't install Hurrican again since now I get an error message saying: "Need version 6 of powersdl_mixer.library.

I had alaready installed PowerSDL and it is working with other 2 gams: Foobilliard and Neverball. So how can I fix this mess?

Well, can you imagine where the problem remains, 30 years working with computers and all? Tried installing the latest Powersdl?
