Not a game, but game related.

I'm trying to resolve some issues with a few SDL based programs and am trying to figure out if the programs them selves are acting up, or if it has to do with Power SDL itself.

I've noticed that Power SDL is a couple years old and was wondering if an update is in order, or if nothing substantial has been updated within SDL over the past couple of years?

There is version 15.2 from itix dating less than a year ago, but as he said it's not really usable (yet).

Hmm, I'll have to check what version I got when I get home. Some games are acting unpredictable.

Fine one moment, spitting out errors the next.

Deleted all old config file, all old libs, installed. 1.4, rebooted, same games giving same issues.

I'll start a different thread, maybe it's just my hardware, lack of right software, bad configurations, or my general stupidity. :)

@ itix, I try to send you a pm but it seems not to work. Do you have a problem with your mail account?

    Regards

Probably. Old isoveli.org domain is gone. Please try ilkleht (at) yahoo.com instead.

The MorphOS port of pixel from Pavel kanzelsberger, (a photoshop clone) is no more maintained because of PowerSDL not UPtodate propely :(

    Pixel web site

This is a big lost for MorphOS users ;-(

UAE Picasso émulation is very very buggy because of PowerSDL bugs. OS4 version is better :-O I was affraid and in a sad mood seeing OS4 version faster and more stable than MorphOS version :(

It's a fact, PowerSDL is not the better MorphOS feature.

Hmm... when I tried E-UAE five years ago it worked great =P

I guess I have to download the latest E-UAE and check it out. Its Picasso96 emulation used to be buggy in some intermediate versions but it was many years ago and I havent checked it since then.

In Bermuda Syndrome. I was able to play the game in a window and was fine. I then tried to hold down SHIFT AND ENTER to go full screen, but the image was restricted to the lower left hand corner of the screen, so I held down SHIFT AND ENTER again which brought me back to the Window view, but it also made the game lock up.

I closed the game, launched it again, but it instantly locked up and said "meditating".

I rebooted, same thing. Also I can not find the location of the configuration file for this game. Maybe it's in the docs and I over looked it?

When I load up the game GISH, everything used to be fine in full screen, but I tried to change the resolution, decided I didn't like it, then changed it back. Even though my settings are exactly as they began, I now have a white square in the upper left hand corner of my screen, but only at the very main menu, so it does not effect game play.

I'm having a brain fart at the moment, but I know there were more SDL related programs that just seemed to be acting a little strange.

Also I'd like to note that I have become deathly afraid of changing the SDL prefs because its seems that some games take to the changes, and others refuse to work again even if I change them back to their default settings. I always end up having to delete the prefs, then re-installing Power-SDL just to make things work again as they once did.

Also, I was wondering if SDL had anything to do with why some programs such as ScummVM do not act the same as they do under Windows.

Where as most games were perfectly and as they should, others tweak out. Granted compatibility has greatly improved since the last release, but Disc World still produces staticky garbage instead of sound effects or musick in many places, and the docs still state that " The MT32 emulation seems to be broken since 1.2.0. I haven't figured out why yet, unfortunately."

Though it does say that MT32 emulation once worked... so that leads me to think that that part at least is not Power SDL related, but what do I know? I'm just a user, and in the real world, that's not as fancy a status as it is in the old Tron universe. ;)
