    @ Xyphoid:
    I'm using a RTCW Platinum Edition iso. Assuming you are using the same:

    CD1: Setup/data/main sp_pak.pk3 (280.2 mb)
    CD2: Setup/data/main autoexec.cfg (12 bytes)
    ----> --------------> hunkusage.dat (8 bytes)
    ----> --------------> mp_pak0.pk3 (60.2 mb)
    ----> --------------> pak0.pk3 (301.1 mb)

    All in the "Main" directory and then click on "Installer" to complete the installation via download.
    Now you have only to start...
    I hope this was useful ;)

    He already described the file layout of his ISO image here in this thread. Going by that, it's definitely not the same.

    so i got the wolfplat_1/2.iso's mounted but wolfplat_2.iso installs 1/4 of the way before i get an error. going phx's route
    dropping the files in got me an installation complete, but when started i got Sys_Error:VM_Create on UI fail with only quit option
    so it's a bust again!

    in looking back at the snoopium log, i think i deleted those missing files out of main in the installer initially, when i started over, that may have
    been my 'most" recent issue with installing the wolfplat ver. we'll see when it's done installing

    Update all ok now...Thanks! ;-)

    I tried RTCW on my macmini, its a bit low on the vram side 32MB, but other then that ok.

    got it running on medium/normal quality and 1280x1024 resolution.
    its runs very smoothly even on a 32mb vram machine, watched some of the videos/cutscenes was great, had one problem installing.

    failed at the copying of the last disk, some read error.
    i just manual copied the rest in and seems to work ok.

    I got rctw-CD original version from a friend:)

    When launched, the Installer printed out "Failed Installation" immediately.
    It seemed, it couldn't load data from the media,
    (but the CD was mounted with rtcw label, I could browse its content).
    Anyway the installer went on downloading the update.
    So I tried to eject CD --> launch the installer again --> insert CD at request.
    Finally it loaded data from the media, started downloading the update and
    stopping it at about 10%...probably 'cause the updatefile was already there..

    "Main" folder, contains a lot of files now, but if I try to launch the
    game, I get "Incomplete Installation - Launch the Installer"

    Furthermore when inserted, the CD is shown as one only icon labelled "rtcw", but shortly before,
    Ambient asked me if I would it to be mounted, and if so, it showed two icons,
    one for data and one for audio tracks.

    Probably I've messed up something :-?

    @scrAb_

    I'd guess that the CD is damaged / your cd-rom doesn't handle it to well.

    Anyway, your best course of action would be to email bigfoot.

    My Special Edition just arrived and it installed/plays without a single problem. I do suspect some people do not understand the concept "original installation media"

    I suspect your suspects are unfounded.
    The CD I have, IS an original one and in mint condition.
    Thank you for your help.

    It's not a question of original vs pirate, but original English vs translated edition (say, French). The installer doesn't work with translated ones.
