Does anyone own any of the MorphOS games that are available for sale at the AmigaKit.com store and if yes, would you recommend them to other users. I am making an order from AmigaKit for the soon to be released A604 memory expansion for my A600 and was thinking of adding the "Barkanoid" and "Knights & Merchants" games for MorphOS to my order, but have not seen any reviews of either game on any of the Amiga or MorphOS forum sites.

Any recommendations, or warnings to stay away from these games?

I played K&M briefly after I bought a MorphOS copy once it came out (actually, preordered it). Worked quite well on 1.x.

Hm, a double post. How did this happen?

Is it a fun game that you would recommend? Does it have nice graphics and good game play and mechanics/AI interaction? A very brief review or comments about the game would be helpful.

I think to read about this you could as well have a look at reviews of the Windows or MacOS or Linux versions.

I'd call Knights and Merchants a crossover between The Settlers and Warcraft 2. If you like both or either, you probably will like K&M too.

I found the beginning quite enjoyable, but towards the very end it gets really hard...

    Thanks for the tips Jupp3,

I will check it out further. Did you play it on MorphOS2.7, or an earlier version? Could you start it up and report any problem(s) you find with it running on 2.7?

I would thank the Wolfman, but I don't like him. (just kidding, well not really kidding. I doubt we will ever be best of friends)

I will thank Andreas for the links and his tireless work to provide links and comments in every thread. I still don't like you, but tolerance is one of my virtues (as it appears to be one of yours as well). Better to be up front and truthful I think, than to pretend that I have changed my mind, but I do appreciate the links, so, thanks.

I have a feeling that the "dislike" is still mutual, so there is no need to confirm it, unless you have some barb that is burning on your fingertips that you just have to post in this thread.

Again, thanks to all for their replies.

From the last link provided in Andreas_Wolf's post, it appears that Knights & Merchants may no longer run on MorphOS2.x and only run stable on MorphOS1.4.5.

Can anyone confirm this for me that owns it, before I make a mistake in buying it? It looks like a game that I will enjoy playing, if it runs stable on MorphOS2.7 & beyond. I will try the demo download on MorphOS2.7, but this might not be an accurate enough test of how the commercial version will, or will not run on MorphOS2.7.

Not really "every" but only when I think I can contribute something helpful, interesting or funny.

I've once reviewed the MorphOS version of Airline Tycoon Deluxe for the Amiga Future magazine. It's a nice and good economical simulation, really worth a try, although a bit slow on a G3 or EFIKA.
