Has anyone here played Crossfire II on the Amiga or Peg? I played that game thru and it was a lot of fun... this looks similar(of course more advanced), and looks to be as playable. Good Luck Team!!

Finally, I got some spate time to play Fortis last friday. As expected, is nice little very polished game. Really good.

Do you guys also suffer from general slowdown and audio "growling", due to CPU overload, in the menus? The game plays well on my Pegasos I (april 2), it's the menus that bog down. I suffer those symptoms on other games and demos, so I fear my AHI configuration draws too much CPU. That configuration is untouched from stock setup.

Is there some advice on AHI tuning I should follow?

I had that too with my Pegasos I. AFAIR the Articia is to blame for that.

Boh. Sure it can't be some stupidity on my part? I feared that. What a pity, I really like this kewl Pegasos board, and the amount of time and money I spent housing it inside a case that was worth it.

If only Mac Minis were as cheap'n'easy oever here as in other countries...

...and the answer comes from the previous owner of my beloved Pegasos! I have a cheesy SoundBlaster here, but if that cures the problem, it would demostrate that the AHI driver for the onboard Pegasos audio is dumb... Really?

I haven't found a way to get rid of that (Articia) audio buzzing on Peg1 when using 3D apps... SB doesn't cure it. It seems to be worse when program is heavier. You can make it slightly better by using smaller screenmodes and details etc, but never get it gone. There's one tooltype for Radeon monitor, which used to help little, but not completely either. I'll dig it out when I have more time... And I don't remember if problem was as bad with Voodoo too?

It is known problem with Articia S northbridge when using 2D/3D acceleration.

What a fabulous piece of software! If I wanted to be a "dick", I'd email a link for this to Gunnar von Boehn.
But, there's no point in aggravating another member of the Amiga community by pointing out good software running on available hardware (and making the obvious comparison the vaporware).

Alright, then, it's no use wasting time trying to solve it. I'll live with that.

I'm very interested, as you can imagine... Are there docs about the Radeon driver anywhere?

Huh? What's so bad with Gunnar's software? What's the story behind this acid comment Jim?

Ah, thanks for making it clear. Well, not immediately, I had to read a bit those pages you link. For one, I forgot Gunnar is behind the very fascinating (as in both sides of the coin) Natami project. And also, he did that little "1942 clone" videogame which seems to be very inneficient painting itself.

So our "Jim" is James R. Igou?

Yes, obviously. And he seems to be Iggy over at amiga.org.
