I found to my horror that I cannot find my PayBack CD, so I am trying to get the demo version working on my eMac. It loads, but freezes the system up in both modes.

Anyone got it working on MorphOS 2.5 and eMac?

Actually hardware render turned off seems to work with the non-WOS executable... Can hardware render be made to work?

Payback's PPC-native executable tries to access the Paula chip for sound output which is not available in your eMac.

The 68k-native version, on the other hand, was updated by the developer to use routines that are not restricted to a particular sound chip. This was done to increase compatibility with Amithlon.

This is why the 68k demo, which is slower in many regards, works for you but the PPC version does not.

I would recommend that you play some other games instead :)

This is strange... I remember it worked quite well on my Efika with 2.4...

...and so it does on my Mini with MorphOS 2.5. I just run the PaybackSetup again and set all settings (even the software renderer). Then it just started working.
