    er, are saying you're trying to run 68k owb in e-uae? May i ask why you even thought do that? :)

    And also, to the responsible for this package. Please *don't* use SDL version for games. The non-sdl version is way faster (especially with overlay output enabled).

    Unfortunately, I've removed PSDL12.1 from my system. Other hand, I had some frozen applications and system runned for 5 days. :)

    @Fab

    No, I use MOS version of OWB :) Simply I unpacked the archive (e-uae presentation) into RAM: and started Turrican. Also I had running OWB at that moment.

    @all
    I can't start YAM (latest build). It hangs up my system during startup :(

    Wow,thanx fab for your post!It's a great honour for me to receive a feedback from such a great MorphOS artist!!Anyway,I've read it in the docs that euae is faster in non-sdl build,but I can't get it run in fullscreen:-(I'll try it again asap,thx once more!

    Well,I see you have a g4 but e-uae is a very demanding soft,so try to run it without any other application running at the same time!and if that doesn't help,it'll be something unknown 4 me,maybe powersdl13...because this presentation must absolutely FLY on a g4!

    Well, there's no relation between uae/sdl and OWB. OWB for MorphOS doesn't use SDL in any way. :)

    @pecanK

    To have fullscreen and overlay, you would add in config file:
    amiga.use_overlay=yes
    amiga.screen_type=custom

    screen_type accepts "public" for window mode, "ask" to request the screenmode, and custom to create automatically the best fitting screenmode (in overlay mode, it just clones the ambient screen).

    Is there a way to exit fullscreen mode? The best I've managed so far is a message about not being able to enter the debugger from fullscreen mode.

    Ctrl-lalt-q to quit.
    The "native" version doesn't support on-the-fly fullscreen/window toggle.

    YAM started after four reboots, and now I can test e-uae again.
    In order to understand what I do wrong I tested both 0.829-WIP4 SDL and noSDL versions with default settings.

    Config: MOS2.2, G4, 1GB RAM, R9000 pro 64MB
    Games: Turrican, System Violation
    I restarted my machine before every test.
    So, I see no diference between SDL and nonSDL versions in this case.

    General performance: good
    Graphics: good, but slowly when too many objects on screen
    Sound: bad, gurgling sound

    As far I understand, it's necessary to check e-uae's audiobuffer value to achieve better sound (as well as necessary to set properly value of audiobuffer for VICE). But I don't know what can i do with graphics. The only way I see is to play with frameskipping.

    Thx again,fab,I've added those 2lines suggested by you to my configs and it works and is visibly faster!So mobydick,if even the nonsdl version has problems with slow graphics,the problem is in your graphics card?I'VE got Radeon9250 with 128mb ram on it...and sound runs well with the onboard soundcard...really strange:-(

    you should use the supplied config files i provided in conf/. There are A500 and A1200 presets. And for something like turrican2, if you have a pegasos, it can't be too slow. It runs just fine on a G3 600 at vbl and without sound stuttering (at least with the non-sdl version).

    I use onboard sound too.
    Really, with A500.config I solved mentioned problems. Now all games works fine, and I have good sound and graphics (even with SDL).
    Perhapts the source of that behaviour (slow gfx and gurgling sound) is screen resolution I use (1440x1080x24).

    Well, with the SDL version, the resolution surely has some kind of impact (especially if rescaled).

    With the native version with overlay output, target screen resolution doesn't matter at all. The emulated source resolution (640x256 or 320x256 most often) is just stretched for free to the target screen resolution, and it also preserve original aspect if you have a non 4:3 monitor.

    There is a search button on Obligement. So you can enter "uae" and find the articles Andreas Wolf pointed out.
