    Hey folks,

Anybody got any analogue devices going on their Peggies? I am now the proud and happy owner of VGP2 (Paolo is great!), Freespace and Freespace 2 (thanks to Michal 'kiero' Wozniak for that), but I can not get my joystick or steering wheel to do anything useful. VGP2 would be so much more with the steering wheel.

Am I alone or are analogue devs not possible on the Peg2 with MOS 1.4.5?

Currently (with public-only releases) the only way to use analog (USB-)joystick is mapping 2 axis to mouse x/y position. Probably this will change in the future, but likely it will require the games to be updated aswell.

Ah, ok. So there's little or no chance of getting the steering wheels or flight sticks going using the game port available on the Peg2?

I am really looking for ways to get more fun out of flying and driving games on the Peg2. The stick and wheel I have are for the game ports, I think it's a 15-pin SUB-D connector. I still have the (self-made) converters which got them working on the 9-pin Amiga joy/mouse ports.

Any chance for that with hard- or software tools, or do we need to ask the MOS guys to add support for that?

IIRC it was Hennes who explained to me, why there will be no other support then the allready existing gameport support. While I don`t remember exactly all the technical reasons behind, I have atleast to agree, that usb devices nowadays seems to be a better oportuninty. (Of course not for those who have allready gameport devices ;) )

So for now, to get ananlogue Devices working in MOS, they must be USB. And you need Poseidon V3. For Poseidon, according to its Developer, Chris Hodges, that is just a matter of days, not weeks, until it is released.

Actually you can get analog joystick working the way I described earlier in the public Poseidon release. Of course update will probably add better solutions, but those need to be supported by the games / programs.
