    I just wanted to make sure everyone was aware of PUSH2004 that will be held in Gothenburg, Sweden in May. It's a party/hack arranged by the Pegasos User Group Sweden (PUGS).
    If you are interested please sign up here (<- link) as we are about to decide which hall to rent and we need to know how many people are interested in joining us.

    We will help users with both MorphOS and Linux and hope to be able to hold some multiplayer competitions (windows PCs are banned!). We will also try to arrange some Pegasos-related merchandise for the party.

    Great idea, but I believe it's a bit short notice. Perhaps you should
    consider to place the event a bit later on, like in late summer/fall?
    I would love to go, but it's too short notice for me to fit it into
    the next months schedule ...
    MorphOS is Amiga done right! :-)
    MorphOS NG will be AROS done right! :-)

    Well, it was announced back in February that we were going to have a party sometime in April-May on pegasos.org. We were hoping that there would be a bigger interest among the swedes that had bought Pegasos computers but so far it has been a disappointment :-(. That is why we have announced it on the international forums now, hoping we could arouse some interest from people in scandinavia at least.
    We have already done a lot of legwork to make PUSH2004 happen so we will probably not reschedule. PUGS also have other events planned for fall so we will probably not have time to plan another hack in fall.

    The next PUSH event might be aimed at a bigger intenational crowd so that we will get more visitors like yourself.

    No, its not to short notice ;-)

    Well, I understand you. And Sweden is a quite big country, with somewhat long ways for people to travel. Which make it to not be - just to stick to over noon.

    But you are more then welcome, keep the eyes open.
    Best wishes, Gunne

    These are some of the events planned for PUSH2004:
    * Competition with a Pegasos 1 G3, 128MB Reg SDRAM as first prize
    * MorphOS 1.5 demonstration
    * Linux workshop
    * MorphOS workshop
    * Game tournaments

    This list will grow as the schedule won't be finalised until our next meeting.
    There is an Internet connection available at the site but we do not yet know if we will be able to use it. (It does not belong to the owner of the building)

    Edit:
    There is enough space for about 50 machines in the main computer hall. We only guarantee you a place if you sign up on pegasos.org. If you want to bring more than one computer please contact us first, otherwise the rule is one computer only. Every person will get one european 220V/50Hz power outlet, bring your own extenders. There is also one slot 100Mbit TP slot for each attendee, bring your own cable.

    PUSH 2004 - Local Gothenburg Pick up

    If you live in Gothenburg or need a pick up from the train station or the airport that is possible. The most important are the monitors and perhaps the computers. If the car/cars get full you can always use public transportation to PUSH.

    We will have at least two cars available at all times which can be used for pick ups from Thursday to Saturday. If you need a lift please let us know by either a comment, e-mail or let us know in our Forum. If several people need a lift we will try to pick you all up at the same time. Let us know first - then we can discuss the details.

    PUSH 2004 - Pre-Signup Soon Over

    Tomorrow (Wednesday) at 23:59 CET the list of all who signed up their interest for PUSH will be printed out. Anyone who signs up after that, or shows up at the door will have to pay full price of 200SEK. This signup gives you a 50SEK rebate.

    So take a minute to sign up your name and spend that 50SEK on a pizza! :)

    Seems like you're organizing a very nice event. I would have liked to attend, but Gothenburg is not connected very well with Italy by low fares air companies... :-P Otherwise I might have made a trip to Sweden (and I will, sooner or later ;-) ).
    Anyway, shame on those who will miss it while having the opportunity to be there!

    Kind regards,
    Andrea

    Actually.. when I went to Italy 18 months ago with Ryanair, it was
    very cheap. Of course only possible to some locations in Italy and
    only if you reserve your ticket a long time in advance.

    Hi merko...
    When I named low fares air companies I was actually thinking mainly of Ryanair (followed by a couple of others) that really made Europe smaller... But Italy is connected with Stockholm: to attend PUSH I would have had to change flight in Frankfurt, but, altough tickets were indeed cheap, paying the taxes twice was almost overkill ;-)

    OTOH, it's clearly getting easier to attend to such events, so that it won't be impossible to meet people from all over Europe in the future!

    Back on topic, BTW: have fun, and don't forget to write down a detailed report for those who'll miss the party - still waiting for something in English from Lodz!

    Kind regards,
    Andrea
