Hi.

Unreal really works great. I bloody played this on my PMG4 25 years ago. Was great fun. Never finished it. Maybe now. :)

So how far away is Unreal Tournament from here?

Very far. The UT version of the engine is a nightmare, I've spent months chasing one (?) memory corruption bug before giving up.
This is just like television, only you can see much further.
