Now as MOS 1.4 is out Shogo is working like a charm with breathtaking speed compared to a BlizzPPC 060/50 603e/210.

Everything flies in the highest detail, the only thing I can't get to work is sound.

Despite that CD audio works ok, and that I set audio to Sound Card (AHI) Shogo tells me "Your sound card could not be initialised" or something similar.

    Anyone with a solution?

Heretic II is fast as hell, but I have some questions here as well about differences to my BVision memories (Tested Heretic II on a Voodoo 3 2000 16Mb):

    - the particles used for example when swinging with the stick are black instead of white (just as the glow and the waves you leave behind in the water)
    - there is no fog (neither underwater, nor in the swamps)

Is it my Voodoo, my Game settings, or the WarpOS wrapper?

The colored lighting is beautiful and the speed is rocking nevertheless!

Read the guide for shogo and tried various AHI settings. (different channels, 11-22 kHz, 8-16 bit, ++ mode) Shogo still complains.

No one else has Shogo but me? :-)

    @ warface,

Hm, I too got the problem with the "soundcard could not initialised"
with a RadeonVE (when starting it the second time; the first time it
    worked ok).

Since I have a Voodoo3 in the Pegasos now, Shogo works ok (also with
sound) therefore I didn't investigate that much time into the problem
    with the Radeon.

The only thing I changed after installation was selecting "AHI sound"
as sound system (as the initial value is "Default Sound (DMA)).

Have you changed something with your AHI settings?
Maybe this is the culprint as I didn't change anything.

I tried it with an AGP Voodoo 3 2000. Could you please tell me the AHI settings for the unit nr you use with Shogo?

I've updated my system instead of a clean MOS1.4 install, can it have any significance?

The only thing I've changed in 1.3 is the number of channels (from 1 to 16) to unit 0 AFAIR.

    @ warface,

Well the Voodoo3 here is a PCI-version (the mentioned RadeonVE is an
AGP one) - just for completness.

First of all the setting in Shogo

    Sound tab:
    Audio channels - 16
    Sound quality - no checkmark
Sound system - AHI Sound (soundcards)
    AHI Unit - 0
    Mix frequency - high
    Mixahead amount - 2048
Streaming sounds - Play all ambiente sounds
Stream one-sound shots - no checkmark

    Advanced tab:
    Disable sound - no checkmark
    Disable music - no checkmark

    Memory tab:
    Sound chache - 0 KB
File Buffers Sound - 300 KB

    Misc tab:
    CDDA device - empty
    Unit - 0
    (I don't listen to CD music 8))

And now the AHI settings for Unit 0:
    Unit 0 - Pegasos 16 bit stereo++
    Frequency - 44100 Hz
    Channels - 32
    Volume - 100%
    Monitor - 0%
    Gain - 0 %
    Input - not selectable
    Output - not selectable

    HTH

Many Thanks! Changing the number of channels in unit 0 from 16 to 32 helped! Yikes :-)

Now anyone with a copy of Heretic 2? :-)
