    Hi all,

Here's a fresh free game for MorphOS (and also AmigaOS4 (Warp3D)):

    Amazing Voxel Bird Saga (Beta)

Similarities to a game called "Flippy Bird" or so are purely coincidental and not intended...
    No, really, it's different :-)
Survive as long as you can while scoring as high as possible while demolishing the voxel-environment.

"Beta", because those builds were tested only on my two development machines so far...

MorphOS users can be happy though:
it works well even my antique G4s / Radeon 9000 in highest detail mode.

In contrast to that AmigaOS4 users aren't that lucky...:
Most noticable slow and with clipping-errors at the viewport-edges (sam460ex, Radeon 9200).
Sorry, I cannot do magic, the driver situation is as it is.

    Please note:
it's beta and if you have technical problems etc. please use the contact mail on our product page since we cannot monitor every forum. Thank you!

    Flöppy greetings,
    Daytona675x

    p.s.: yes, it's free.
But if you want to support us, there are donate-buttons on that page or my own homepage.
And/or consider downloading the Android version ;-)

Ok, first time I tried any of these floppy bird clones. I have some difficulties to start the game without it crashing (sometimes empty window in start, sometimes even some gfx or audio). But got it up couple of times (and then had this in log).

But anyway, good looking game again. It even has my all time favourite TRSi (or actually any group) logo :)

Yeah it hits and probably also violates memory bondaries as other application are crashing right away.

I suddenly had 3231 MB of memory free on an Efika! :D

This usually happens due memory trashing, usually caused by overwriting the memory boundaries.

The game runs well but there seems to be a problem with "settings.dat" in env-arc.
If set to full screen and afterward restart it hangs up the hole system, until you delete "settings.dat"

But, the game is cool and runs real fast on PowerMac!
Thanks for a nother fun game!

How about an option to use a butterfly instead of a bird:-)

thanks to pega-1, who told me that there is that tool "logtool", I was able to find and fix the bug jPV and geit were experiencing.
The fresh version is ready for download now :-)

    @defender:
if this one happens again, please send me your settings.dat to the contact mail on our game-homepage!

    Have fun!

Yes, it runs really well on both my weak Ibook 1.33 GHz and my powerful G5: both with the best quality.

Looking forward to more great games like this :-D

    [Edit]

When I tried to donate in OWB, this happened and it's a first for me:

There's a fresh version available for download with subtle but significant changes in the scoring-calculations. All in all you get more score the more coins you chain up.

Cool game for pauses but why is it so demanding? Full load and noise on a Mac mini @ 1.5GHz although no other program is running.

Very polished game even for an indie entry!
I must register and compete to online score as well :)
I would also propose a Butterfly instead of the stock bird for the MorphOS edition. Perhaps the OS4 ppl would also like a bird colored like a boing ball or something.
FYI, the game runs best at the default quality setting (1 click before max) on a PMAC G4 1.6Ghz, 1.5GB Ram, 9800XT. Ofc it still runs very good on max quality settings, but still I notice a small fps drop. Is it possible to enable fps show so we can compare with other systems?

I think that game should get more difficult the further you get. It's a bit too easy now and you get physically tired before you die by skill. Maybe it should get faster after each checkpoint for example, if not by level design...

This kind of game would be more entertaining in long run if each try would stay shorter.
