As far as i know SSDs connected via an IDE-Port do not support TRIM at all, you need an SATA-interface for that.
If you plan to use another OS besides MorphOS an SSD will be a BIG speedup! On MorphOS I do not miss an SSD much, it runs already quite fast from HDD. For comparison: Regular PCs running Windows or Linux from SDD feel as fast as running MorpOS from HDD.
