OMG -Frank you are the master at stoking my expectation. Just a brief look, Radeon 9800 driver, G5 memory bandwidth that is frightening, and what would appear to be a G5 iMac.

And I'm sure when I go back to review these three images I'll be able to pick out more.

I already got my Christmas gifts. What an end of the year bonus!

Sorry Andreas, I misread that. And yes the 9600 and 98000 are very closely related. Now if he'd shown an R400 driver loading...I think my head would have exploded.
Right now, I'm just trying to find out if its safe to reflash my FireGL X1 to a Radeon 9700.

    More like Radeon X600 (RV380). But it's R300 family just like Radeon 9800 (R350/R360).

They are, but nonetheless it's still X600 (RV380) in the screenshots (and what I was referring to), not 9600 (RV350/RV360) ;-)

Intersting,! I've got to use a lower screen resolution, move my monitor closer, or get a bigger monitor. I'm having that much trouble making out the text.

Yeah an X600 is pretty neat, but that kind of a PCI-e 9600. Probably not to hard for them to do after supporting the 9600. I still want to go to a 9700 or 9800 and then to a X800 Xt or X850 XT.

Why not use OWB's zoom feature (or alternatively, define bigger fonts for OWB's webview)? :-)

    > but that kind of a PCI-e 9600.

X600 XT has up to 370 MHz VRAM (pega-1's screenshot shows only "351 MHz", though) whereas fastest 9600 only has 300 MHz VRAM, resulting in a bandwidth of up to 11.8 GiB/s (= 11.2 at 351 MHz) vs. 9.6 GiB/s. Not much difference, but not just a "PCI-e 9600" either.

    > I still want to go to a 9700 or 9800

I think that current support for 9700/9500 and 9800 is no worse than for 9600 (and now X600 internally for that matter).
